Synopsis

Shot over three years, this documentary tells the true story of villagers in Jalsindhi, central India fighting against the Narmada Dam project. The film follows their struggle through hunger strikes, rallies, police brutality, and a six-year Supreme Court case as their village faces submersion underwater.

Three choices were presented to the villagers: move to city slums, relocate to a barren resettlement site with no drinking water, or stay and drown.

Bestselling author Arundhati Roy joins the fight against the dam.
